Glass Fusion Studios of Vermont
Commentary by Joe Cardamone, Artist
New Work
Hi Folks,

Well, now that Spring has arrived, people are starting to get out more and have started shopping downtown Bennington....and finding their way into my studio.

I've recently sold a number of pieces out of my display window and I've taken several orders for new customer designed and made stained glass windows.

One is for a fellow merchant, Rick and Ellen, who own the Bennington Bookshop.  I'm excited about the window as it will be installed in their front door and is a Prairie design.  It will have mostly clear glass with a hint of color...I know it will look great.

I'm also going to start creating more stained glass windows for my store front window, I like to keep the display full and have many different choices for customers.  At the moment, I have about 15 windows hanging of all different styles....what seems to sell the most is the more traditions windows...florals, Victorians and prairie styles...so I'll probably concentrate more towards those styles....give the people what they want.

Enjoy the day!

Joe

Wholesale Work
Hi Folks,

I'm in the process of coming full circle when it comes to my business.  When I first moved to Vermont to do my stained glass and fused glass work, I was going to work out of my basement and sell through other galleries and gift shops, both here in Vermont and through out the country.  However, I wasn't quite sure what that meant or how to go about doing that, easier said than done as the saying goes.  So, I went into what I did know, a retail shop.

I moved all my stained glass and fused glass equipment, tools and glass to the new location and set up shop.  Now, two years later, I'm finding myself going back and examining my original idea of selling wholesale.

I moved to Vermont to slow down, enjoy life more and the beauty that Vermont offered, instead, I jumped right back into what I knew...retail.  Now, my thoughts of hiking and biking, and working when I want are calling back to me and I think I may follow that call.

I've started to move all my fused glass equipment, tools and glass back to my basement studio.

This will be a summer of thinking about my business and where I see it heading.  One thing is certain, that I will still be open through October for retail sales, but, I think I will start working on my wholesale side and see where that leads me.

Custom Stained Glass is a bit more difficult in a state with few people, and even fewer that appreciate or can afford a custom stained glass window.  So, I must examine what stained glass will lead me and how I can make a living.  More to come .....

Enjoy the day.

Stained Glass Inventory Reduction Sale
Hi Folks,

Well, I've decided to clean out my inventory of stained glass glass.

I have DRASTICALLY reduced the prices on over 100 pieces of glass.

I have all colors, styles, shapes, textures and even have some Spectrum Baroque and
Iridized glass and pinks (one of the more expensive colors!)

It's a sale that's not to be missed.

You can save a ton of money by not having to purchase on line, you'll save on "boxing" charges,
Higher glass prices on line, and you don't have to pay for "Shipping and handling"....a hugh savings.

My store hours are:

Sunday                              12 - 4
Monday-Thursday-Friday   12 - 5:30
Saturday                            11 - 5:00

I'm closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Enjoy the day!

For Sale Page on Website
Hello,

Well, I will be adding my work to my "For Sale" page on my website.

I hope to have my stained glass items on with the week and I will also be adding some
of my fused work also.

I currently don't have a lot of fused glass work remaining in my shop as it's mostly been sold, and
I haven't turned my kilns on in a few months as I've focused on stained glass orders.

Once my kilns are back up and running I'll add more product to my website!

If you are interested in any of my work, email or call me and we can go from there.

Thanks,

Enjoy the day!

Joe

Hi Folks,

One of my exhibiting artists, Deb Higgins, has just brought in some new jewelery with a slant towards
St. Patrick's Day.  Stop in and see the new earrings, necklaces and bracelets all made with green glass, findings
and crystals, they are beautiful, functional and adds the right touch for St. Patty's Day, or any day.

And don't forget that I create custom stained glass windows here in my Bennington Vermont Studio.
I can work with your design, or custom create something that is one-of-a-kind, just for you.

Colors are endless and in the end you'll have a functional, beautiful and special piece of art.

Enjoy your day.

Congratulations

I want to congratulate a friend of mine, Anna Croyle of Catonsville Maryland who just had her second stained glass pattern book published.

It's called "Doorways, Windows & Transoms" Stained Glass Pattern Book....it's available at on line stained glass business as well as on Amazon.com  It's a great book with some beautiful patterns.  I can't wait to make a few of them myself.

Congrats Anna!

Enjoy the day folks!

Stained Glass Windows

I've recently been doing some research on how to expand my business into the Capital District of New York State, which includes the Albany & Troy areas.  These are two older cities with great turn of the century architecture and stained glass windows.

I'd like to somehow tap into the restoration of damaged stained glass windows & creating new custom
stained glass window to replace long lost windows and add a touch of history to these old homes and buildings.

I'll be taking a trip over to Troy, NY to visit, walk around, get to know the historic district a bit and get a feel
for where I should advertise and or make some connections to drum up some stained glass business.....I'm excited and looking forward to learning more about the city, as it's only 40 minutes away and this trip is long overdue.

I hope to walk away some business!

Take care,

Joe

Bennington Vermont's weather ---- I'll have to look out the window.
